There are a lot of bands and artists on this website that deserve neither attention nor space on any site. Lynyrd Skynyrd is absolutely not one of those bands. This is a band with a passion and a soul, a band with a message of revolution and pride that would still be rockin if it was not for a tragic plane crash. The Second Helping album that they put out in the early seventies is arguably the greatest album ever and Skynyrd´s Innyrds is without a doubt the best compilation album of all time. Only Gold and Platinum competes. Anyway, I hope that others read this and agree. If you don´t, it don´t really matter, "cuz you´ll never see a-me no more."

I really like the band Lynyrd Skynyrd then and now. It´s really sad that the original band is gone but i still listen to their music, it is still great. Their are many songs that i like: Free bird (my favorite), simple man, sweet home alabama,all i can do is write about it, what´s your name. I will give anything to see them live (the original band) any place any time!!!

How is Usher related to Lynyrd Skynyrd? Ronnie could make better sounds with his ass than Usher can with his pop-star air-brushed voice. It makes me so sad that music has become this candy-coated mockery... once upon a time musicians actually made music... I mean... played the guitar and everything. Would any of these popstars know what to do with a bass if you handed it to them? Can they plug in their own amps?
Maybe I´m expecting too much. But is it really wrong for me to want music with some kind of meaning behind it? **Sigh** Somebody take me back to Woodstock, please.

It really sucks that ronnie Van Zant died and the others died. The band is still great without Ronnie but if he was still here I know Lynyrd Skynyrd would still be making more albums and more great #1 songs like freebird , simple man, sweet home alabama. I just started playing guitar about a 2 months ago and I have you guys to thank. The first song i learned was simple man and it is a awesome song i know it forward and backwards. I wish ronnie was still here but he is prolly looking down on us all and seeing what a wonderful image he has put on us all. Yall are still #1 keep on keepin on . I hope to learn more of your songs on guitar and be as good as yall one day.

To all members of Lynyrd Skynyrd old and new, All of you inspierd me to start playing music. I have to my father for getting me involed with you guys and your music. Now it´s like I now everything about your music! I know all of the words to all your songs. My brother does not like your music. Two of my main models are Gary and Allen. Also Ronnie,Steve,Billy,Artimus, and Leon are my models. You Guys Rock!!!!!!!!
