right i made a movie of that speach with pics and all. right im 13 now and i was looking for an ido llike really ment something to me, unlike some people who idolize "slim shady" or whom ever. i feel like if you want to lok at someone you want to be id look at alan´s life. he cares for so much more then a normal actor and hes human too. i just....love him. heh. hes really someone i can say "I love Alan Alda, so! hes better then your idol!" i think people cant understand a person until they know the person. it makes me sad to see all these people idolizing people who do drugs and go to jail and do a lot of stupid stuff. yet, it makes me happy to know that i have the perfect idol!

I think everyone should read the commencement speech he gave at his daughter Eve´s graduation (1980). Look for it on the Connecticut College website.
He is so wise. If you want your life to matter, take his advice. He´s inspired me. Thank you, Alan!

Alan isn´t just a great actor he´s a great person in personality. That´s what made him my idol. He´s normal like any other person, but he´s the kind of guy who sticks with it. I hope Alan reads this because this is very important to me and the main reason. I think even though I´m young and most people don´t read my veiws I do have something to say. I make my own desicions and I know whats good and bad. Alan is good and I know that for a fact. I could careless if he was on M*A*S*H. As long as for all the stuff he said and does like SAF for education. He my kind of guy. Peace out, Shawna

I absolutly LOVE Alan Alda (Alphonso D´Abruzzo)!!! I am collecting the M*A*S*H series on DVD just becaus eof him. I have also found myself going and renting movies, that were made before I was even a thought, and watching them till I have to be pried from the T.V screen. His personality when he acts is just amazing!!! He is so focused. I act myself but I regret that I will never be as good as he is. Not to mention is writing in several productions are amazing. I am having trouble finding the right words to decribe it because such words are not even in the English language. I really hope he gets to read this. That way he knows on how much he has suceeded in his work to bring joy, laughs, tears, and anger to viewers of all ages.
