New Book about Ripley! There is a new book about the Ripley character called Alien Woman: The Making of Lt. Ellen Ripley and having just finished it I can say that it is really, really, good. I wish I knew the films as well as these guys. The authors (a woman and a man--married?) are really funny sometimes even though both are professors somewhere. Both live in New York anyhow. Their chapter on Alien3 was much more fun to read than the film was to watch.

Personally I favour this woman a lot. It was "Ghostbusters" 1+2 in a supporting role when I noticed Sigourney first. Although it was just a small part it brings her career to a summarizing point I think: Convicing roles, realistic play, cool appearance and sexy lady.
I know she will be known in movie-history as Ripley, fem-struggler of the "ALIEN" - nothing against it, but not enough honor for this fascinating woman. (PS: I can recommend ALIEN, but mainly the original part 1 and only(!) the uncut(!)version!
