Dear Kate,
My name is Sandra, and I am 30 years old. I suffer from an illness called quistic fibrosis, I am diabetic and my two lungs were transplanted 7 years ago.
I don’t wish this letter to be the typical one sent by any fan. Actually, I don’t like the word fan, because it means fanatic, and I am just a person who wants to get in touch with you to thank you for many reasons.
I got to know you when I was very young, I was maybe 15 and one of the TV channels in my country was offering a TV series which changed my life: “Scarecrow and Mrs. King�.
It changed my life because I’ve always lived in hospitals, and I’ve seen how some of my friends suffering from my illness died, most of them being still children. They didn’t even reach adolescence. I’ve grown up locked up between walls, from home to the hospital and from hospital back home. And that TV series softened my sadness. When all my girlfriends were at the nightclub or went out with boys, I used to watch “Scarecrow and Mrs. King�.
I didn’t get to know you in your role of Sabrina, I didn’t know you were an “angel�, but you became my angel to a certain extent, because I liked so much your role of Amanda that it helped to cheer me up, and I started to know about your career.
Amanda and Sabrina are very different, so this proves how much good actress you are. I feel a bit like Amanda, being always at home, with no feeling, with nothing to make me thrill. Although I’ve got a wonderful husband, I feel totally empty, I feel as if I am spoiling my life.
My transplant is very delicate, I always have to have my defenses very low in order to avoid the transplant rejection. All that prevents me from doing many things I would like to, such as being mother.
When I was younger and watched “Scarecrow and Mrs. King�, I sent so many letters to the TV channel broadcasting the series that they decided to try to persuade you to come to Spain. But I was told you were suffering from a cancer and you were not able to travel.
Kate, I’m really sorry for your illness, I think you’re OK now, but I imagine that your illness has changed you a lot.
I don’t speak English, this letter has been translated into English by another person; that is why I know few things about you through the Internet. I know there are several fan clubs of “Scarecrow and Mrs. King�, and I found something about you, but in English. I wish I could study languages soon and be able to know more things about you and your career. I want to thank you the congenial and romantic moments I spent with you as Amanda King. I really miss her, she was wonderful. Now the series has been put back, and I’m watching it again, being 30 years old, with the same feelings I used to have.
I would be very happy if I could watch new episodes of “Scarecrow...�. There was chemistry between Bruce and you that could be noticed from the other side of the screen. Your illness made that the end of the series was different from what I expected, so resuming it after 20 years would be marvelous.
Kate, I don’t know for how long I will live; transplants are not forever and normally the rejection comes sooner or later and you end up dying or receiving another transplant. I would like to have your friendship by letter. My dream is to meet you, not Amanda or Sabrina, but Kate, the person who has made me forget my illness so many times.
I guess it must be a bit boring for an actress of your category to bear the over-sweet fondness of your fans, hearing them call you Sabrina or Amanda when you are Kate, unable to differentiate between you and your characters.
But you live in a world in which I will never enter, worse or better than mine, but completely different indeed, and you should be proud of having lived so many experiences because when you die and go away, you must feel satisfied of having done almost everything you had wanted to do in life.
Maybe your life it’s not an easy way, and fame might have some terrible things, but at least you’ve got the experience of having done many things, and this is beautiful.
Kate, I don’t mind either your faults or your virtues, but the whole set of things that have made you like you are, Kate Jackson, the human being.
You helped me so much and made my life easier, you are my angel.
I don’t know how I could get in touch with you, but it would be very special for me if I were able to meet you, to have a cup of coffee or tea with you and chat a bit, only that. This is the dream of my life: meeting you.

I absolutely LOVE this woman! She is smart(always played the smart one) beautiful,quite exotic looking, fun,witty, seems like an all around nice person, very giving,and extreemly under-rated as an actress! I have followed Kate´s career thru the early days("Dark Shadows","The Rookies"
and yes finally "Charlie´s Angels"! Not to mention her big break on the silver screen "Making Love" as well as Kate´s many lifetime movies! Kate is an absolutely GORGEOUS woman who will be 57 this October! Kate if you ever read this, here´s to many,many,many more birthdays to come! You are (and remain) the ONLY television/film star I have any desire to meet! May you and your son(Charles Taylor Jackson) have many years of happiness together!
